New Poll Shows Democratic Voters Favor Student Loan Forgiveness

Inside Higher Education this morning reports on the findings of a new poll showing that Democratic voters heavily favor student loan forgiveness. The polling data were released in the wake of several Democratic presidential candidates indicating their support for student loan forgiveness and/or tuition-free college. From Inside Higher Education: "Eighty-five percent of student borrowers support loan forgiveness, and 55 percent of respondents who have paid off their loans support it." The poll also found that Democrats aged 18 through 38 rank student loan forgiveness as a top 3 policy issue.
