DOJ Claims Yale University's Admission Policy is Discriminatory

Writer: Rebecca NatowRebecca Natow

The Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) issued a Notice Letter yesterday claiming that Yale University's admission policy is discriminatory "against Asian American and white applicants in its undergraduate admissions process in violation of Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act."

From Inside Higher Education: "If Yale does not agree by August 27 to end the consideration of race in admissions for one year, the Justice Department threatened to sue the university.

Yale 'categorically denies this allegation,' said a university spokeswoman."
