The College Scorecard, a database maintained by the U.S. Department of Education that provides institution- and program-level information about student debt and other figures, released new data a couple weeks ago regarding graduate program debt levels. Andrew Kreighbaum of Inside Higher Education reports: "The release of the student borrowing numbers is the first step in the [Trump] administration’s plans to beef up program-level information on the Scorecard, a consumer tool launched by the Obama administration." Inside Higher Ed also reports that observers are doubtful that the Scorecard will be used by students on a large scale to make consumer-like decisions about higher education.
